About this Model

The Daimler Super Eight Final Edition marked the quiet end of Britain's oldest surviving car marque. Built on the long-wheelbase Jaguar XJ platform and fitted with the same 4.2 litre supercharged V8 found in the contemporary XJR, the Super Eight was always the most discreet way to have serious pace and serious presence in one car, favoured by owners who wanted the performance without the ostentation of a badge everyone recognised.

The Final Edition run brought the Daimler name to a close after well over a century of production, closing out a lineage that had supplied the British Royal Family for generations. Each car left the factory with the full weight of that history behind it, finished to the standard the marque had always been known for: soft-grain leather, burr walnut veneer, and the kind of unhurried cabin that modern luxury saloons rarely bother with anymore.

Long before Range Rovers and armoured Jaguars became the default, Daimler was the marque of choice for British state transport, supplying prime ministerial and government cars for decades, with Winston Churchill among the Daimlers' most famous wartime passengers. It is that lineage, as much as the badge itself, that this Final Edition brings to a close.
